Fire Door Inspection - DART Tool Group

Rannetic were contracted by DART Tool group to conduct a survey of the fire doors throughout the building and to provide a report detailing the various conditions found. This was a non-invasive inspection, so only a visual check was conducted. No grilles, plates or architraves were removed to access any hidden defects.

Using a triage system, we were able in indication with doors required more urgent attention according to:

  • BS8214 - Code of Practice for Fire Door Assemblies

  • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

  • DHF Code of Practice: Hardware for Fire and Escape Doors

  • HM Gov. Fir Safety Risk Assessment: Offices and shops

  • HM Gov. Fire Safety Risk Assessment: Factories and warehouses.

By advising the Responsible Person at DART Tool Group of this potential fire risks and hazards, they were able to take the steps required to make necessary changes to their fire doors in order to make DART Tool Group both at less risk of fire and make them compliant.
